The legendary Gengis Khan rode a white camel into battle. He believed this was a very special camel. Legend has it that at the beginning of each battle, Khan would watch the camel for a sign. If his camel turned his head to the left, defeat was inevitable. If he turned his head to the right, Khan would be victorious.
It is told that at the beginning of one battle the camel turned his head to the right. With this sign, predicitng the outcome of the battle, they charged the attack. However half way through the battle the camel then turned his head to the right. This was a sign for retreat. Khan called his men to back away. This saved the lives of many of his warriors so that they could fight again another day. But unfortunately, Khan was captured. Later, it is told, that the white camel went ino the camp of Khan's enemies and rescued him.
